Therapy for the ones holding it all together…barely
I’m Rachel Duvall, a licensed independent clinical social worker and EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist specializing in EMDR therapy and EMDR intensives in the Berkshires, serving clients from across Massachusetts, as well as those traveling from Boston and New York City for deeper, retreat-style healing.
I help people move beyond survival mode and into lasting, meaningful change.
You’ve been in therapy before, maybe for years.
You can talk about your issues, your attachment style, and your defenses until the cows come home, but it doesn’t mean you feel any actual change. You understand the “why” and no clue about the “how.”
You’re used to doing it all—at work, at home, emotionally for everyone around you. But the pressure, perfectionism, and constant self-improvement keep you exhausted, anxious, and disconnected from yourself.
You give more than you receive. You’re dependable, responsible, and the person everyone leans on. But you rarely feel supported yourself. Boundaries are hard, rest feels uncomfortable, and your body is showing signs of being pushed too far for too long.
Anxiety may be running your days—tight chest, racing thoughts, sleepless nights, constant internal pressure and stuck in overdrive. You might feel stuck in patterns you desperately want to break.
Your relationships are not what you hoped for. Maybe you’re struggling with constant conflict, infidelity, or unhealthy relationship patterns you can’t seem to change.
You want deeper connection, but you’re tired of feeling unseen, unsafe, or misunderstood.
When you have plenty of insight, but you’re ready for real change
If any part of you feels "too much,”or "never enough,” you’re in the right place.
My philosophy and approach to trauma, anxiety, and relational healing
01
Healing happens in relationship
02
Processing the past means building compassion for all parts of ourselves
03
EMDR therapy and therapy intensives provide the time and approach needed to heal your past and transform your future
The Work We Do Together
We focus on more than just talking about your problems; you may have done that for years with no results. Blending EMDR therapy along with somatic and relational approaches, we work with all parts of you to help shift patterns at their root.
Clients often come to therapy feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, frozen, or stuck in repeating relationship dynamics. We take our time to understand where you are and where you want to go, to build the tools you need to get there, and to gently process the blocks that get in your way. Clients often walk away from our work describing a lightness, clarity, and authentic self-compassion that shifts their relationships with both themselves and everyone else in their lives. They’re able to say, “no” without the oppressive guilt and to say “yes,” with full belief in their worthiness.
My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself — not the version of you shaped by pressure, other people’s expectations, or traumas of the past, but the “you” that feels grounded, confident, and able to create a life and relationships that truly support you.
Clients experience therapy with me as…
Welcoming.
Refreshing.
Grounding.
Authentic.
Flexible.
Transformative.
About Rachel Duvall, LICSW — Holistic EMDR Therapist for Anxiety, Trauma & Relational Healing
I’m Rachel Duvall, LICSW, a licensed clinical social worker and certified EMDR therapist serving adults in Great Barrington, MA, and offering online therapy throughout Massachusetts and Florida. I combine evidence-based trauma therapy with somatic, holistic, and relational approaches to help people move from overwhelm and anxiety into grounded confidence and connection.
At the heart of my approach to therapy is building a relationship where you feel safe enough to “go there.”
Having been a therapy client myself, I know how scary it can be to open up to someone new. I also know the relief that lives on the other side of that initial discomfort, when you have a trusting relationship to guide you through.
As a therapist, my work centers on deep healing, not surface-level coping. I help high-achieving, deeply caring adults especially women, parents, and LGBTQ+ clients who may feel burnt out, anxious, or stuck in patterns of chronic people-pleasing, burnout, perfectionism, or relationship distress.
EMDR and Therapy Intensives in the Berkshires
My practice is located in Great Barrington in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, a region known for its gorgeous mountains, slower pace, and restorative environment. Many clients find that stepping away from the intensity of city life allows them to focus more deeply on their healing.
I offer EMDR therapy and therapy intensives in person in Great Barrington and provide online therapy throughout Massachusetts and Florida.
Some clients choose to work with me through traditional weekly therapy, while others travel from the Boston or New York City areas for EMDR therapy intensive retreats. These longer-format therapy sessions allow for deeper trauma processing and meaningful progress in a shorter period of time.
Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, or past experiences that still feel unresolved, EMDR therapy can help your mind and nervous system process what has been holding you back so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and ease.
I’m a parent, social worker, certified EMDR therapist, and neurodivergent (ADHD) recovering people-pleaser passionate about helping women, young adults, and parents overcome anxiety, self-doubt, shame, and trauma. I remember vividly the pressures that came with growing up as a girl in a religious community in the south. The pressure to be “good” was strong. The fears of disappointing others and “getting it wrong” kept me stuck for years. I know how scary it can feel to go against what other people think you “should” do.
As a working-mother I understand the ridiculous pressures placed on us as women to do all the things without expressing anything but gratitude and positivity. Motherhood was not what I expected and again I felt that pressure to be “good,” no matter what. Therapy gave me the permission and safety to connect to my truth and what I really wanted in life. It taught me it was okay to admit I was not okay and allow others to help me. I learned how to release shame and embrace true self-compassion for the first time.
I want to provide that space to my clients so they can feel free to share every part of themselves. All emotions are welcome! This work allows me to bring together all the parts of life I enjoy most; being present with other human beings in their pain and joys, collaborating with others tell to their story, and ultimately helping them connect with hope and possibility.
